Our Passion Services We Provide
"Bridge Services" for Primary Care:
- We will manage/maintain chronic medical conditions, as well as prescribe and continue medically necessary medications (not including controlled substances) until primary care is established.
- We will not be able to diagnose or treat acute conditions. This list includes those presenting with new/acute symptoms (anything that has presented less than 90 days prior), infections of any kind, injuries, patients discharged from hospitals/rehabs within the past 90 days, conditions that require continuous monitoring with frequent adjustment of medications, medical extremes (uncontrolled hypertension, uncontrolled diabetes) any patient with acute/chronic cardiac issues, and medical screenings (including mammograms, colonoscopies, ultrasounds, etc).
- All specialty care (requested or recommended) will require that patient find their own, preferred specialists in order for us to send referrals and requests. Patients are encouraged to contact their insurance providers for a list of said specialists, who are within their network, in order to expedite this process.
Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Providers
What is PrEP?
Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a once-daily pill, taken orally, in conjunction with prevention strategies to reduce the risk of acquiring HIV infection. Currently, the only medication approved by the FDA for PrEP is tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) 300 mg co-formulated with emtricitabine (FTC) 200 mg, known as Truvada. PrEP is recommended as a prevention option for individuals at higher risk of acquiring HIV infection, including adult men who have sex with men (MSM), high-risk adult heterosexually active men and women, adult injection drug users (IDU), and adults whose partners are known to be HIV infected.
A series of clinical trials have demonstrated the effectiveness of PrEP. The guidelines are based on strong evidence from PrEP clinical trials that were conducted in high-risk populations. These studies did not find any significant safety concerns with daily use of PrEP. (Assistance available for those without insurance)
